Companion Dogs for children – This team consists of three people, a primary caretaker or parent, the child and the dog.  The dog can perform many duties including physical tasks and/or a companion for an autistic child creating a sense of security for the child, while enhancing a wonderful bond of love, affection and trust between the child and the dog.  Studies have shown that an autistic child who has bonded with a companion service dog has better focus, less temper tantrums, and a general sense of security in the world.
